Ken Robinson: Changing education paradigms

We have listened to Ken Robinson here on Vijana FM before (thanks to TED), but I especially appreciated this talk and animation organized by the RSA. Mr. Robinson makes important conclusions about why education today seems to be inspired by old values of the enlightenment, and economically driven by industrialization. He urges people to begin to think of education as a way to foster divergent (or lateral) thinking, a significant driver of creativity.

What forms of education in East Africa encourage divergent thinking? Do these forms exist within schools, or outside of schools?

  1. This guy (Ken Robinson) talks sense. If only we could see truth in his arguments, we could change current forms of learning to suit the hyperminds of today’s youth.
