A conference focused on building collaborative learning technologies will take place in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania from May 25 – 27, 2011 at the Mlimani City Conference Center.
This year’s conference is focused on youth, skills, and employability.
According to the conference homepage, eLearning Africa 2011 will:
- Present the perspectives of young people, parents, teachers, community members, governments, companies and civil society organisations;
- Look at attempts to include disadvantaged young Africans in the digital age;
- Discuss policies that promote the use of new technologies to reach youngsters, especially those out of work and out of school;
- Explore how technologies can enable young people living in Africa to become the driving force for social and economic prosperity;
- Compare their experience with that of their contemporaries in other parts of the world.
Thus, eLearning Africa 2011 aims to engage in topics of discussion affecting 198 million Africans who are between 15-24 years old, or 20% of the continent’s population.
Be sure to read about how you can participate both as a participant and an exhibitor.

Thanks @Joji for sending me this.
ICT training is crucial for those who have access in TZ. Networks are expanding, bandwidth is getting cheaper, and more phones have badwidth access.
What need does this create? A concerted effort to develop mobile technologies that can engage with mass groups on capacity-building feedback.
