A short documentary shot in Mtwara tells a story of a fish vendor Yusuf Mhaji Hashim who rides his bike with a basket selling fish from house to house. The documentary focuses on Yusuf; apart from being a fish vendor, a life that most of his customers are not aware of is that he has lots to tell in this world.

  1. Is there a longer 10-min version coming soon? I’m looking forward to it. This video also is telling of the different actors in the fish market supply chain. Yusuf seems to be able to sustain himself, but we aren’t told whether he is the one catching the fish, or if his fish are the final goods households buy… he may be a middle man, which is good business in any market.
