Last Friday Kigali Hip hop lovers started their weekend in style with an amazing live performance by Mahogany Jones – an American hip-hop, soul and spoken word artiste with her band at Petit stade in Kigali, Rwanda.
The show kicked off by local artists’ performance including Christian -a former Tusker Project Fame contestant and the youngest and talented Rwandan rapper Babou who entertained the crowd with his most loved hits and dance.
After local artists’ performance, Mahogany Jones electrified the concert attendants in her exciting live performance with her dynamic band ‘The Mahogany Jones-Live’ comprised of vocalist Roslyn Welch, DJ Sean Blu and percussionist Lauren Johnson.
Hip Hop, soul and spoken words fans from Kigali enjoyed an extraordinary concert organized by the U.S embassy in Rwanda through the American Music Abroad programme in partnership with the Association of American voices and the U.S department of State.
In addition to its Rwanda performance, Mahogany Jones- live will tour other African countries including Uganda, Botswana and Ethiopia.
According to her website, Mahogany Jones’ Hip- hop experience started in New York under the mentorship of Toni Blackman’s freestyle Union.
This hip- hop gig was one of the most entertaining rap exclusive concerts which took place in Kigali.
