Taifa la wavumbuzi

Mara nyingi vijana tu wa kwanza kulalamika kuhusu ukosefu wa nafasi katika ajira na kadhalika. Wengi wetu tuna ideas kadhaa ambazo tunadhani ‘zitatutoa’ kimaisha. Ila, ni wachache ambao wana uwezo wa kupigania ili kufanikisha ndoto zao hizo.

Leo hii ningependa tuelekeze jicho letu kwa kijana Stuart Ntlathi kutoka kule Bondeni ambaye ni mfano wa kuigwa. Akiwa na umri wa miaka 13 aliona umuhimu wa kuwahimiza wenzake darasani kupenda masomo ya sayansi. Nia yake hii ilimwezesha kuanzisha klabu ya sayansi shuleni mwake kipindi hicho. Fast-forward miaka 10, leo hii Ntlathi ana taasisi yake mwenyewe (Stuart Ntlathi Science Engineering and Technology Institute) yenye nia hiyo hiyo ya kuhimiza masomo ya sayansi nchini Afrika Kusini.

Taasisi hii inaandaa matukio mbali mbali ya kuchochea mapenzi ya masomo ya hisabati na sayansi kupitia makongamano, summer schools, na mashindano kadhaa kwa watoto wa shule. Huu ni mfano tosha kuwa, sio lazima kutegemea serikali katika masuala ya elimu. Ingependeza kuanza kuona makampuni maarufu nchini Tanzania nao wakianzisha programs kama za Ntlathi – angalau nasi tutayarishe taifa la wavumbuzi. Kampuni zetu zimezidi kushabikia mno mashindano ya u’miss Sinza/ Kilimahewa/ Ustakencheke/ Bantu n.k – ndio maana vijana wengi wa shule wanataka kuwa ma’miss au wachezaji wa dansi (heshima mbele kwa akina Milen, Flaviana et al). Ni watoto wangapi wanataka kuwa magwiji katika fani itakayoondoa kero ya umeme nchini, au kuwa wataalamu wa sayansi katika mapambano dhidi ya ukimwi au malaria?

Mwaka huu Ntlathi aliwasilisha mada kuhusu ‘kizazi kipya cha wavumbuzi’ kwenye kongamano la NET Prophet 2010:

  1. Uvumbuzi wawezekana hata Tanzania. Cha maana ni kuanza chini kwa capital ndogo au hata teknolojia ndogo then kuiendeleza. Ili teknolojia au sayansi yeyote ifanikiwe lazima kuwe na direct impact kwenye community. Hili hasa ndio la kuzingatia. Ni vyema sisi sote tukaliangalia hili.

    we Tanzanian we lack innovation and long vision in many aspects as the result most of people try to do what they face in a particular time.
    If we could focus on future all this things could possible.
    yes wanakimbilia u-miss tz,ubungo etc sababu wanaona wanapata faida hapo hapo,inapokuja swala la miaka mingi baadaye wanaona oooh mimi sitakuwepo…who cares?Ni sisi vijana tunaotakiwa kuleta haya mabadiliko ,kila kitu kizuri kinahitaji mda mrefu na devotion…
    anyway one day we will reach there…
