Street Food – Zanzibar

Street Food – Zanzibar is a captivating documentary from Al Jazeera showcasing the rich food culture in Zanzibar, as well as the political emotions held by the masses. From the clip, constantly the union matter is raised and I am sad to see the disenchantment of the Zanzibari massess. Some feel colonized, some want a 50-50 share in all matters Tanzanian.

In what ways can we ensure citizens from both sides reap full benefits of the Tanzanian citizenship for the future of our nation? It is important to raise such matters as we head to the 2010 Tanzania general elections.

  1. Zanzibar’s history has been forgotten, when in fact it was due to the Zanzibari port that the mainland received migrants from far-fetched places like India and Oman. This is not remembered in Tanzanian politics.
