Vijana wa Duke

Kuna watu ambao hawatuelewi vijana. Tuna njia zetu ambazo tunatumia kuwasiliana; au kujadili mambo yanayotupa changamoto kwenye maisha yetu ya kila siku. Inaweza ikawa siasa, michezo, elimu, sanaa… Lakini, binafsi huwa naguswa na hadithi za mitaani. Na hapo ndipo mapenzi yangu na Hip Hop yanapojidhihirisha!

Mojawapo za nguzo za Hip Hop ni kughani; hii ni lugha fulani ya ushairi, kama ukisikiliza kwa makini nyimbo zilizosimama.

Bahati mbaya, wasanii wa Bongo walioibeba na wanaoibeba Hip Hop ni wa kuhesabu. Kwa sisi tulio mbali na nyumbani kuna wakati hata hatusumbuki kutafuta nyimbo za kweli kutoka Bongo. Unasubiri tu kwa mfano Fid Q akitoa album ndio uitafute.

Lakini hawa vijana wa Duke ‘wanatuchanganya.’ Yaani tokea nipate nyimbo zao, kusema ukweli weekend hii imekuwa shangwe!

Producer Duke ameamua kuwaweka (karibia) vijana wake wote kwenye nyimbo moja ambayo imesimama (ipo chini hapo). Kuanzia mwanzo hadi mwisho sijaona kasoro; flow ni kali, mistari imetulia. Na muhimu kuliko yote, wana punch line delivery ambayo inaenda sambamba na beat.

Bila shaka hawa vijana wako makini sana — nasema hivi kwasababu kuna metaphors (za kitaa) nyingi sana ambazo zitakuacha unatabasamu, unacheka au kufikiria.

Ukiacha hayo, mara nyingi wasanii wengi hutegemea beat nzuri ili iwabebe. Kwenye huu wimbo wao, beat ni kali sana (Duke kajipinda!), ila kwa mtazamo wangu nadhani vijana wake wamemfunika kwa ushairi.

Nimepata moto wa kuandika makala kuhusu hawa vijana ili kuwapa moyo, na kuwasihi waendelee hivyo hivyo. Watafika mbali…

Mpaka sasa hivi siwajui hata majina yao, ila naitambua baadhi ya mistari yao vizuri tu:

“Nawapiga mihuri ya moto, wanalia kwa maumivu; wapinzani…”

“Hizi flow zinaua, [lakini] na bado sijahukumiwa”

“Mi n’na thamani ya rubi, dhahabu na sio silverrr”

“Ukienda mbali katafute, usiende sio kisa msichanaa”

Steven was born and raised in Dar es Salaam, and moved to Germany for his studies.
